1) What is your pore size?
Look in the mirror at the pores at the top of your cheeks that are close to your nose. Use these pores to click your pore size below. Read an explanation of why this matters here
You can use this method to know your skin type. Look in the mirror and notice the pore size in different areas
of your face. The most common acne skin type is combination skin with larger pores on the chin, nose, upper
cheeks and the area between the eyebrows. Also consider how shiny or oily your skin becomes by mid-day. If there
is no shine you do not have oily skin. If your skin is shiny by mid-day you most likely have oily skin.
2) What is the general weather like outside currently?
Your Kit will include Hylunia Cleansing Lotion. If the weather changes to warm and you find yourself a bit oily
change to the Hylunia Cleansing Gel.
If you find yourself getting too dry with the Hylunia Salicylic Cleanser switch to the Hylunia Cleansing Gel.

You have grade I acne. You may not get a lot of benefit from facials. It is worth it to give one a try or maybe
just have a facial one or two times a year.
You have grade II acne. Only an experienced Esthetician that uses a disposable puncturing tool to express the tiny
bumps is recommended. Every 4 weeks until 80% clear and then every 6 weeks typically needed.
You have grade III acne. Facials will be very helpful for you. Every 4 weeks until 80% clear and then every 6
weeks typically needed.
Use just the kit for 3-6 weeks and do ice therapy every evening for 4 weeks, until the pain of the deep papules
and cysts subsides. Then a facial every 4 weeks until 80% clear and then every 6 weeks typically needed. Continue
ice therapy on an as needed basis for any red inflamed or deep pimples. *If you have ONLY deep red cystic acne
with no little bumps or blackheads or pus filled heads, facials are typically not therapeutic. In this case ice
therapy is always helpful to do with the BP Gel one or two times a day.
Remember, ice therapy for only 5 minutes, pat dry and then apply the 10% BP Gel immediately while the skin in
still very cold. See the Ice Therapy instructional video.
5) Are you and your skin properly hydrated?
Using the top of your forearm pinch a large portion of skin and then release. Not enough skin to cause pain but
enough to be able to see the skin retract back. Does the skin snap back totally into place in less than half of a
second?
It appears you are well hydrated - good job! Does hydration improve acne? There is no direct proof but it does
improve digestion which may help acne.
It appears you may be dehydrated. If you drink a lot of water but still are dehydrated you may need to add some
electrolytes (powder form, not a sugary drink) to your water. Does hydration improve acne? There is no direct
proof but it does improve digestion which may help acne.
